How does Memory Box work?

Memory Box uses space on your computer to store backups. The amount of space used on your computer depends on how much data you need to backup. Memory Box uses the space to exchange backup data with other Memory Box users, thus creating a safe (because it's online) and secure (because it's encrypted) distributed backup system.

Your file may be stored on the space on another person's system but they will never have the full file, nor will they ever be able to 'see' or 'run' a part of it. Memory Box does not allow any user to see where parts of files are going to or coming from.

How Memory Box Works

Each file needing backup is encrypted then broken into over a hundred pieces before being distributed to other users on the Memory Box network. Redundant information added ensures the original file can be recovered even if many of the parts are lost.
